One of the greatest challenges facing Angolan bird conservation and research is the lack of skilled, trained people to carry out this work. University graduates have little knowledge or capactiy to perform independent work, so one of our aims is to find suitable candidates to be involved in our work, and to learn from us. We are finding it difficult to identify the right people, but so far we have:

> Supervised two final-year biology student projects, one at the Faculty of Sciences of the Agostinho Neto University in Luanda, and another from ISCED in Lubango.

> Run a one week training workshop in Ornithology for two students and four field rangers of Kissama National Park. This was done in association with the Kissama Foundation.
