Established in 2006, Birds Angola is a group of dedicated individuals and organisations that support, promote and conduct information gathering, research and conservation of Angolan birds.

Our main projects currently include:

• Update and maintain information databases on Angolan birds
• Improve knowledge of Angola's threatened birds, particularly the endemics
• Update information on Important Bird Areas of Angola
• Improve the conservation status of the Western Angola EBA and its key species
• Initiate a bird atlas for Angola
• Collect genetic material to study the evolution of Angola's endemic bird taxa
• Promote ecotourism in Angola, particularly bird watching
• Promote ornithological research in Angola
• Build capacity among Angolan biologists, specifically in ornithology
